I am a Surgical Gastroenterologist, Laparoscopic Surgeon with extensive experience in Diagnostic and Therapeutic GI Endoscopy (Upper GI/ Colonoscopy & ERCP) & General Surgery.

At the ‘Healing Touch Hospital, Jalandhar’, we have the privilege of having the first dedicated department of Surgical Gastroenterology in this region. The department excels in managing all the sub arms of this vast discipline namely—Esopahgo-Gastro-Duodenal system, Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary system and Colo-Rectal system.

I have an experience of 10 years in the private sector as an independent consultant in the above said disciplines. During this time, I have managed the following volume of intervention procedures:

Re-Operative Abdominal Surgeries/ Salvage of Life Threatening Post Operative Complications

  • Post Cholecystectomy Biliary/Luminal/Vascular Complications- availability of ERCP/ Interventional Radiology Expertise and Surgery under the same roof. This is our ‘forte’ for which we are known far and wide. We are the authority for Roux en-Y Hepaticojejunostomy salvage for Biliary trauma during cholecystectomy in this region.

  • Post Operative Fecal Fistulae-This entity has given us our identity as we specialize in their management. Staging the management into two or three surgical stages, we have near 100% success rate in salvaging this entity of post operative catastrophy.

Surgery for GI Emergencies

  • GI Perforations- Simple as well as Complex (Multiple/ Giant Duodenal Perforations/ Colonic Perforation in the settings of Toxic Megacolon/ Leaking previously repaired GI Perforations) and Virgin as well as Neglected GI Perforations with Sepsis and Multi Organ System Failure.

  • GI Trauma- with stress upon non-operative management as per the modern guidelines for trauma management

  • Upper/Lower GI Bleeding- with full backup of GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy with provision for intraoperative GI Endoscopy and Colonoscopy.
